Meal time .......
Not the most attractive of offspring with its emerging stumpy wings but nevertheless quite cute.
This young Moorhen and its siblings seem to be doing very well with a busy Mother in constant attendance to their needs.

I'm not sure which bird produces the ugliest off spring, Moorhens or Coots. Definately a child a mother can love :-)
ReplyDeleteI would say without doubt that it as a toss up Doug, not a day to be out in the field, here in Barton Seagrave we have just had hail stones in great numbers and size !.
